Diane Lane plays a believable 40 yr worn pre-school teacher, Sarah Nolan, who recently got divorced. She is receiving all kinds of serve and suggestions for finding a date from her two sisters, three brothers, widower dad, and even an elderly Aunt. The lines they exchange as they check each other out are hilarious … Their first date to an ethnic Armenian restaurant is astounding and so realistic. The conversation between them is tremendous and memorable. Other laughable moments in the film are when Jake and his lawyer friend are watching “Doctor Zhivago” at home, discussing its merits related to current dating. Objective the fact of two guys viewing Doctor Zhivago … when neither of them has a date is silly and their rating it as the ideal romantic film is highly ironic.

This film is laughing out loud amusing as it mimics dependable world ironies on many levels for adult dating, whether divorced, single, or widowers, the film works for them all. Many experiences between Sarah and Jake parody real-life and are hugely amusing. Sarah and Jake end seeing each other due to a misunderstanding where a fancy triangle develops, challenging Bob, the pre-school pupil’s dad. After breaking up with Jake, Sarah answers many internet dates, each one is worse than the next. Sarah eventually sleeps with Bob but under erroneous pretext … which she eventually realizes and drops Bob, accusing him of having “frail her” when she was vulnerable. He acts innocent of all charges hurled verbally at him. Sarah’s dad inadvertantly meets Jake outside a coffee shop as Jake is taking his hand-made row boat out for the last time .. before it is sold to be mounted on a wall. Jake shares some of his sentiments of lost esteem with Sarah’s dad - not luminous who he really is. Sarah’s dad quotes Jake to her and Sarah then realizes whom her dad had met … She awakens to the fact Jake truly cares for her and she pursues him. The film is completely satisfying on all levels. It has technical merit, titanic comedy because it mimics precise life so well. The actors and actresses are all perfect for their respective roles. Although this film is comparable to many “formula” films of “boy meets girl”, “they drop in esteem”, and “they live happily ever after”, the most distinguished aspects of this film are its novel twists and recent differences, making it a summer popular worth discovering for oneself.

She has that ability to come out through the cloak and pull you into her life. Calling it acting would be an injustice to her craft. She makes her character a living, breathing, touching life that makes you want to hug her and fill her cessation and say……I’m sorry that husband of yours ever caused you to yell. You deserve better….you deserve cherish…..you deserve happiness….hell…..you even deserve a Golden Globe! Accelerate…..don’t hobble…..and glean it today. It’s a keeper!

Robert Mitchum stars in “Out of the Past” as Jeff Bailey. As the film opens, he is the owner of a diminutive town gas station; he’s romancing a glorious girl (Virginia Huston) and his life seems idyllic. However, a stranger arrives looking for Bailey, and everything changes irrevocably. The account is told partially in flashback - enumerating his past with a cutthroat gangster (Kirk Douglas) and a mysterious moll (Jane Greer) - and partially in the display as his past ensnares him into a complicated morass of cancel and revenge.

“Out of the Past” is a quintessential 1940s film noir, suitable up there with “Double Indemnity” and “The Maltese Falcon,” although it’s arguably not as well known as those classics. The script is whip-smart and filled with incandescent dialogue - a character asserts to Bailey, “Don’t you contemplate you’ve only me to perform deals with now? ” and Bailey shoots befriend, “Get my gallows high, baby.” Each scene is perfectly shot with an abundance of ambience; director Jacques Tourneur specialized in sullen films, such as “I Walked with a Zombie,” and he certainly scores here. The region is fat of crosses and double-crosses - it’s admittedly not one of the most complex film noirs; however, the characters are perfectly etched, and the film builds to a heartbreaking conclusion.

In 1991, “Out of the Past” was inducted into the National Film Registry, which protects valuable American films. The film clearly deserves this honor and fortunately will be preserved for future generations of film noir fans. Overall, “Out of the Past” is one of the best film noirs I’ve seen and a estimable movie in every blueprint. Most highly recommended.

DVD extras: the main extra is a somewhat dry but informative commentary by James Ursini, an author celebrated for writing about film noir.

This classic film noir, featuring the twin cleft-chinned presences of
Robert Mitchum and Kirk Douglas, has got to be one of the most
enjoyable ever made. It’s not the somewhat confusing area, but the
snappy dialogue — and the confident acting — which makes it work so
well. The repartee (”A woman with a rod is like a man with a
knitting needle”) is valid of some of the best screwball
comedies and yet it’s unprejudiced as dusky as a noir should be in terms of the
desperate things the characters do and the dreadful things that happen
to them as a consequence. Jacques Tourneur (”Cat People”,
“I Walked With a Zombie”) directs with finesse, but the
importance of an ace writer like James M. Cain (”The Postman
Always Rings Twice”) — uncredited for some reason — can’t be
stressed enough. He deserves as considerable credit for the success of the
film as Tourneur, Mitchum, Douglas, and comely femme fatale Jane
Greer, the woman who seduces both Mitchum and Douglas — rod in hand.

His grandson, Chokkei, and Chokkei’s parents, live with him and Honey. Chokkei’s dad is also a pervert. One disturbing scene shows an aroused Chokkei’s mom, naked and ranting about what a safe body she has, after she has captured her husband and father-in-law spying on Honey in the shower. The scene is disturbing because Chokkei is grabbing his naked mom, trying to cessation her.

Where does Honey reach from? Grand more of the mystery of her past has yet to be revealed. In the third episode, it is revealed she is an android. The main He-Man Villian Reject, Dolmek, comments that Honey, the “graceful warrior” is fragment of a prophecy. What is the prophecy? Is Honey unknowingly playing into the terrible guys’ hands?

I am a limited confused. Honey’s changing involves the magical girl genre, but she is an android. So is she magic or mecha? In anime, the two are rarely combined. Oh, well, maybe I am overthinking it. Let’s recognize the jiggling, round chest and astonishing physique. “She’s the Girl With The . . . Uh . . . “

I was amazed when I read that this British production was not well received upon its release in 1992. The highly talented pair of Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes play the doomed Cathy and Heathcliff, supported by the equally elegant Janet McTeer as Ellen Dean. The performances are exemplary–Fiennes’ performance is said to have inspired Steven Spielberg to cast him as the Nazi commandant in “Schindler’s List.” And a diabolical Heathcliff he is, indeed–Fiennes plays this intense role faithful to Emily Bronte’s current character. He is tormented, sadistic, manipulative, ruthless and brutal–and nonetheless hypnotically sexual and alluring. This is the noble Heathcliff, with all apologies to the radiant Laurence Olivier, who portrayed Heathcliff as a distinguished more sympathetic character. Juliette Binoche plays both Cathy and Cathy’s daughter by the ineffectual Edgar Linton, and brings broad depth and appeal to both roles. The scenes of the bleak Yorkshire moors, and the haunting, dark quality of the Wuthering Heights house, lend this film a truly Gothic atmosphere. A jarring label is the casting of Sinead O’Connor (in a wig) as Emily Bronte, but this is a minor flaw. I found this version every bit as gracious as the unique 1939 classic, to which this film has been unfairly compared. It is distinguished more faithful to the brooding, doomed quality of the book. The scenes acted by Fiennes as the grief-stricken Heathcliff unprejudiced after Cathy’s death are alone worth the imprint of the film. For the many fans of these two colorful actors, and of Bronte’s current, this film is well worth seeing. END

Every once in a while, I encounter an actor who, although playing a familiar character, seems to re-invent it and display details of it that have never before been displayed. Such is Ralph Fiennes portrayal of Heathcliff in this film. I was not at all surprised that Spielberg chose him for “Schindler’s List” after watching this film–Fiennes’ Heathcliff is almost wholly unsympathetic (he is a wife—and child– abuser) but Fiennes lets us know the inner heartbreak that drives Heathcliff to such meanness. Previous Heathcliffs have been more stock romantic leads–the fresh Spiteful Guys a’ la’ James Dean.

I can’t really understand the gross negativity of the “official” reviews–it appears that the movie, as is the current, its characters, the author, and her entire family is a dinky off-center and out of the mainstream. The Brontes were a bunch of queer and wild kids in a outlandish and wild piece of the world, and “Wuthering Heights” is a uncommon and wild book–not a first-rate Victorian romance, as other reviewers have suggested. Comparing Emily Bronte to Jane Austen is like comparing William Faulkner to John Grisham because they are both from Mississippi. None of Austen’s characters could survive in Bronte’s Yorkshire, and the Brontes would probably be unwelcome in Austen’s stately Hampshire homes.

I,too, liked this book as a teenager, and now have the opportunity to stutter it to high schoolers,and I must say my students generally seize this fresh and this film treatment to most others in British Literature. The film does have its flaws–but not enough to create it unwatchable, and having spent a wild, rainy weekend in the Bronte’s hometown of Haworth, Yorkshire, I do bear the film aptly captures the mood of that forbidding area.

As for the choice of Sinead O’Connor to play Emily “framing” the “frame narrative”– all I can guess is that she does acquire a passing resemblance to the portrait of Charlotte Bronte that hangs over my computer (gargantuan, mammoth, intense eyes) . Plus the Brontes were ethnically Irish.

Watch this film to support your English lit grade, to gawk a truly artful nuanced acting performance, to be pleased some attractive scenery, or impartial savor a weepy gothic romance. Any scheme you search for at it, it can’t possibly be a raze of time.

This review is for the Blue Underground DVD release of Nightmare City with some extended information to sing potential buyers. As has been said, this DVD is exactly the same as Anchor Bay’s 2002 DVD release except it has a different shroud to it. Even the text and images on the abet of the DVD case are the same. The 2 extras are the same as well. Tales Of The Heinous City, an interview with the film’s director, Umberto Lenzi. Lastly, included is the current theatrical trailer.

So, if you believe the Anchor Bay DVD and are expecting original extras on this DVD release, you’re out of luck. It’s exactly the same disc. But, if you’ve never owned Nightmare City, I do recommend it. (Plus, Blue Underground’s DVD is cheaper novel.) It’s a nice change of shuffle with blood suckers instead of flesh eaters, well-kept snappy trim strong zombie like creatures, able to flit airplanes, drive cars, and employ garden tools to slay anyone in ogle. Speaking of plug, the film is nicely paced, too. Lenzi did a noble job on the directing in this portray. One nice touch is the expend of a synthesized soundtrack, and early example of its employ in movies.

An airplane fat of passengers heading into the city’s airport has people sinister with radioactive material turns into vicious bloodsucking cruddy-faced, fast-moving, weapon weilding mutant vampire-esque zombie monstrocities that originate to attack the city and infect people with their bites. The only plot to ruin them is clearly a bullet to the cranium, a jouranlist (Mel Ferrer) with his wife must coast the city of panic with mass hysteria pleaguing the great town.

Entertaining, wild and bizarre Mexican/Spanish/Italian Sci-fi awe action movie from Umberto Lenzi (”Cannibal Ferox”) . This movie pratically created the fast-moving zombie subgenre that influenced “Dawn of the Tedious 2004″ and “28 Days/28 Weeks Later” with the similar infected beasts but these creatures are somewhat of a hybrid of mutant, vampire and zombie since they also drink blood like vampires due to the radition in their cells. The music win is awesome as there’s alot of violence and gore in this movie including some cheesy exploding heads, the ending is a cop-out as many would complain but i mediate this movie is pure grindhouse cinema fun for anyone who likes the zombie genre.

This DVD is a re-issue of Anchor Bay’s DVD with the same colorful transfer and sound quality including the extras like trailer, featurette and bio of Lenzi.

Yeah, I know that this direct-to-video sequel was set out to cash in even more so on the current, which itself grossed over $300 in U.S. box office receipts to become the most successful Disney film ever! However, after watching this a couple of years abet and revisiting it today, I know that there was another, considerable better, reason: four years after THE LION KING, we were all missing the characters…and we were hungry for more. As noteworthy as us fans of the new did not want the possibility of having the franchise foul by an infamous sequel, it seemed to be worth the risk.

And it was. In 1998, Disney got most of the valuable voice-over actors abet from the original—Matthew Broderick as Simba, Moira Kelly as Nala, Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella as Timon & Pumbaa, respectively, and of course, Robert Guillaume as the hilarious Rafiki—and made THE LION KING II: SIMBA’S PRIDE, which follows our accepted Lion hero (and King) & family as they purchase up from where they left off in the first film. Now Simba is the King and his young offspring is a lioness cub named Kiara; he’s the troubled dad in this one, always fearing for the safety of the young precocious girl, but they’re nevertheless a elated family impartial the same. Of course, grief lurks in the shadows, as Zira (Suzanne Pleshette—yes, *that* Suzanne Pleshette), the villainous ex-mate of Scar, is training her young son Kovu to grow up to avenge Scar’s death by killing Simba. This film, by itself, is very well-written and acted, with expedient production values for the fact that it is a direct-to-video sequel. It has really no flaws of its enjoy, objective one distinct inconsistency between it and the first film: Scar’s ‘ex-mate’ Zira (and, by extension, Kovu) simply did not exist in the modern THE LION KING! She was obviously made up unbiased to have a sequel. However, this is the only major thing to overlook, and if you can forgive this movie for it, then you should be able to easily indulge in yourself. As I said, this is a suited gripping movie, and I recommend it for any fan of the novel. This sequel isn’t quite as dark; however, I collected would not recommend showing it to very young kids. Suzanne Pleshette does a surprisingly splendid job as the infamous, scheming, vengeful Zira (basically a female versdion of customary Scar himself) . Neve Campbell does a solid job as the content of the adult Kiara, and Jason Marsden does excellently as the conflicted Kovu, who wants to do splendid, but…he made a promise to his mother…didn’t he?!

Listen, THE LION KING II: SIMBA’S PRIDE is not the masterpiece that THE LION KING is…however, it is grand better than it perhaps should be. Fans of the modern should definitely enjoy it.

Personally, I feel that the two Lion King movies are probably the best Disney movies out. It’s definitely worth watching if you like movies that have a combination of: tragidy, romance, adventure, and maturing. The songs are fine icy. This movie definitely is a worthy sequil, I reflect that Disney should design a third Lion King movie.

In this movie Simba and Nalla have their kid “Kiara” (a girl) . And the boy Kovu who is chosen by Scar to follow in his paw prints, as it’s clearly stated in the movie. Kovu is raised by Zira, Scars mate. And like in the first Lion King Kovu grows up with a girl as a child hood friend named Vitanni and a klutz of a brother name Nuka. But the dissimilarity between the first and the second Lion King movie is Kovu doesent hook up with his child hood friend. Vitanni plays a main share in the slay which helps change the minds of the outsiders and the pridelanders, suprisingly. And that’s all I’m going to narrate you about the movie, except for it’s really worth seeing!!!

My husband and I enjoyed this film very considerable and we both agreed that Perry done a large job with this film. Though he continues to assign out films with an distinct “stagey” feel to them that don’t work as well as they should even though they do work better than one would seek information from. In his second feature film without the Madea character, Perry again brings one of his stage plays to the substantial camouflage with “Why Did I Procure Married,” a film that works because of the heart and soul of the cast even when it feels like Perry’s over-the-top preachiness is about to cave everything in. The film centers around four couples who obtain each year at a Rocky Mountain retreat for your basic “place our marriage” therapeutic weekend. Being a Perry production, the weekend will be filled with lots of laughs, lots of tears, lots of revelations, a few heartbreaks and a solid Christian center that without the preachiness that often accompanies such a central core.

Janet Jackson leads the cast as the relationship expert who guides the weekend supported by her husband (Malik Yoba) . There’s a power couple (Tyler Perry and Sharon Leal), a drinkin’/fightin’ couple (Michael Jai White and Tasha Smith), and an obviously abusive couple (Jill Scott and Richard T. Jones) . Before the weekend is over, in typical Perry fashion, secrets will be revealed and lives will be changed for the honorable and the unpleasant. The ensemble cast is solid throughout, most notably a well-padded Jill Scott as a gentle, sweet woman trying to deal with a cheating hubby, and Tasha Smith, who’s blessed with the film’s best lines and she nails every one of them.

While it’s certainly easy to knock Perry’s inability to gain anything approaching subtlety, it seems almost pointless to do so. Perhaps because of his lack of subtlety, Perry’s films inevitably say things that most of today’s filmmakers don’t have the balls to say and it’s rather refreshing to have a filmmaker actively suppose out on issues. The scenes between Jill Scott and Richard T. Jones, for example, are almost achingly painful in their honesty and brought vividly to mind the affirm shock of Blair Underwood’s domestic abuse scenes in “Madea’s Family Reunion.”

Other solid performances are turned in by Janet Jackson and Perry himself, who proves he needn’t be dressed in poke to be an accomplished actor. Toyomichi Kurita’s cinematography is solid given the film’s inherent staged feeling and that all of Perry’s films continue to be modestly budgeted productions. Aaron Zigman’s new music complements the scenes nicely, and, while the production earn doesn’t quite skedaddle us away from the staged feeling, it nonetheless fits the proceedings well.

Tyler Perry doesn’t really need film critics. While his first turn away from Madea, “Daddy’s Runt Girls,” was a box-office disappointment, Perry’s modestly budgeted films continue to successfully come Perry’s targeted urban markets and, with a typical box-office in the $50 million range, Perry’s future as a filmmaker continues to be on solid ground.

This was only my third movie I’d seen of Tylers (slow Diary Of A Inflamed Dim Woman and Daddy’s Small Girls) but I’d heard so many definite reviews about this, that I bought it and I’m so cheerful I did. I truly enjoyed it.

It is a fable blending four married couples who each have their problems. They go away on a couples weekend in the mountains and various senarios engage area. It was marvelous to examine a plus-sized character in here (Jill Scott who played Sheila), but the verbal and emotional abuse she took from her husband was outrageous. He was an outright pig of a man (although he’s cute and played very well by Richard T Jones) who bought to this couples weekend, his ‘bit on the side’. During the course of a dinner one night, accusations go flying about each of the couples relationships or infidelities etc and it gets ravishing frightening. There are fracture ups and do ups and it is done really well. I plan one of the best actors in this movie was actually Janet Jackson. I opinion she was very very qualified in here and I plan Jill Scott was only average. She isn’t the best of actresses, yet she did develop us really feel for her and her issues with her husband and her weight.

Yes the movie is a dinky long, but it is very delectable and overall it’s well acted out and spicy and a novel favourite of mine. I really loved this and tickled I bought my believe copy so I can re-watch it every now and then. It’s large.

2. “The Rod of Treasure is Born! Usagi’s Recent Transformation” (”Crystal Determined Again” in America) in wich Momoru (Darien) takes Usagi to an abandoned house where stray kittens live. They meet a young girl whos trying to glean homes for the kittens. When the cramped girls puzzle turns into a diamohn, the senshi (scouts/soldiers) reach to the rescue. But they can’t defeat it. The current outer senshi, Sailor Uranus and Neptune, appears, they appear to be searching for pure heart crystals like Professor Tomoe. Sailor Moon gets a modern power from her treasure for Momoru. She is now able to defeat the diamohn.

3. “A Delicate Boy? The Secret of Haruka Tenoh” (”Driving Dangerousley” in America) in wich Usagi and Minako (Mina) meet a boy at the arcade. They stalk him all day when they become suspicious that he might have a girlfriend. But when a diamohn comes after his mechanic friend, the senshi is forced into action. Uranus and Neptune advance, but the heart crystal is not the one they were looking for and are able to give it benefit. Usagi and Minako learn that the boy is a girl named Haruka (Amara) .

4. “Usagis Idol! The Pretty Genious Micharu” (”Terrible Harmony” in America) in wich Usagi feels that Momoru will plunge out of fancy with her if she dosen’t customary to his colledge level soon. She meets Haruka’s friend, Micharu (Michell) who can play the violin. She gives Usagi tickets to a violin concert so she takes Momoru. The violin turns into a daimohn and is after the players pure heart. They defeat it and Uranus and Neptune are able to give it encourage!

5. “Protect the Pure Heart! A Three Plan Battle” (”Sweapt Off Her Feat” in America) in wich Usagi’s friend dreams of her first kiss. When her vacum cleaner turns into a diamohn and the heart crystal gets carried away by a garbage truck, a urge happens between the senshi, the outer senshi, and the diamohn. When the diamohn is defeated, Tuxedo Screen and Sailor Moon have to battle Sailor Uranus and Neptune for the crystil.

6. “Leave it to the Moon for Care For Help” (Blinded By Love’s Light” in America) Usagi tries to back her friends, Naru (Molly) and Umino (Melvin), hold their cherish together by entering them in a dateing game. When they collect, their prize turns into a diamohn after Umino’s heart. After the diamohn is defeated, will Uranus and Neptune be able to give Umino his heart aid?

7. Frigid Hearted Uranus? Mikato in Disaster” (”Lita Borrows Inconvenience” in America) in wich Mikato (Lita) becomes fascinated with Haruka (in the subtitles, Haruka is lesbian, but not in the dubb) . When Mikato goes for a car slip with Haruka and Michiru, a diamohn comes to assume her heart crystal. The Senshi comes to her relieve, but what if Uranus and Neptune have found one of the hearts they need? What will be the fate of Mikato?
